This parking area is where the American actress Barbara Colby and her colleague James Kierman were shot in 1975 after leaving an acting class. Colby died instantly, but Kiernan was able to describe the shooting to the police before succumbing to his injuries. The killers - two black men in a light-colored van - remain unidentified. Colby is best remembered for her appearances on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Phyllis.
